Sapienza Consulting is recruiting an Export / Import Compliance Support to work on-site at ESA ESTEC. The Compliance support will manage the necessary documentation for the movement and disposition of space hardware with regards to ITAR, ECCN, FSTEC, REACH. This position will be temporary to begin with, but a long-term extension is possible.

Responsibilities for the Export / Import Compliance Support:

  • Inventory management
  • Logistics Documentation and Database Management
  • ITAR and EAR Coordination and Management
  • Ground Processing and Transportation Management
  • Logistics Planning and Implementation
  • Logistics Support to Launch Campaign

The candidate supports the planning, preparation, execution and follow-up of projects/ programme activities interm of procurement actions, costs including preparation of Estimate Cost at Completion as relevant, etc. including:

  • Assisting in the definition and in maintaining related work/procurement plans and related execution and contract actions plans using local tools as applicable
  • Reviewing / checking of ESA internal expenditures such as re-charges, support services and purchases for consistency with Estimate Cost at Completion of industrial contracts
  • Support to the preparation of the financial contract commitment and the data entry of the milestone payment plans in the Agency’s system(s)
  • Provision of ad hoc project control and administration support as needed. Utilisation of relevant local and/or Corporate management support tools at both project and programme level

Profile of the Export / Import Compliance Support:

Ideally a Master’s Degree in a relevant field;

  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in logistics with transport of equipment across borders

Experienced with some of the below (considered an asset):

  • ITAR, Air freight security
  • Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
  • Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC)
  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)
  • Able to work independently
  • Distinguished capabilities with Excel
  • Familiarity with the Science programmes
  • Experience in dealing with external interfaces
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA member-state language is an asset
